Victims of crime in NSW can register to be kept informed about changes to the offender’s custody arrangements.

If the offender is an adult, registered victims can be told, for example, where they are being held, if they are going to be released soon, if they escape, and if they die.

If the offender is a juvenile, victims will not be told where they are being detained or their actual release date, but can be informed if they are given approval for leave, their release is coming up, parole is pending, they escape, and the general area they are living in after being released.
